Trap (2024)

It’s bad on purpose — or is that just the trap? Maybe it’s all too clever and sailed clean over my head.

It weirdly held my attention, but you could’ve baked a loaf with how often my eyes rolled.

It’s so cartoonish it must be intentional. An oddly fun watch that leans entirely on the protagonist’s twists and resourcefulness — with no real concern for believable plotting, character decisions, or anything less than divine luck.

It’s a B-movie, a TV thriller, a Hallmark concert caper. Snake Eyes without Cage, Nick of Time without Walken — just another slice of schlock with little to redeem it.

I’m torn. It was fine for an at-home, one-and-done experience. Even M. Night Shyamalan usually earns a second watch through a big reveal; this one won’t ever need my participation again.
